India's most trusted hands-on smartphone review platform
I started MobilePulse in 2020 with a straightforward mission: to create the most honest, detailed, and practical smartphone reviews for Indian buyers. After five years and more than 200 phone reviews, that mission hasn't changed — if anything, it's become more important.
I hold a degree in Electronics Engineering and spent three years writing technology features for print and digital publications before founding MobilePulse. I test every device I review personally for a minimum of two weeks, using each phone as my primary daily driver across real Indian conditions — navigating traffic in Mumbai, shooting family events in varied lighting, gaming during commutes, and enduring the kind of battery drain that comes from a genuinely busy day.
The Indian smartphone market is one of the most competitive and complex in the world. With hundreds of devices launching across dozens of price points every year, and aggressive marketing from every major brand, finding genuinely reliable, unbiased buying guidance is harder than it should be. MobilePulse exists to change that.
We focus specifically on what matters to Indian buyers: real-world battery life under Indian usage patterns (not laboratory conditions), camera performance for the kinds of lighting situations common in Indian homes and outdoor settings, gaming performance for titles that are actually popular in India like BGMI and Free Fire, and value for money that reflects the actual purchasing power and priorities of Indian consumers.
Every review on MobilePulse is written after a minimum of two weeks of hands-on testing. We don't publish reviews based on press briefings or manufacturer materials. We buy or borrow test units, test them in the real world, and write our honest conclusions — positive and negative. Our opinions cannot be influenced by advertising relationships or brand partnerships.
We test displays in multiple lighting environments including indoor office lighting, bright outdoor sunlight (particularly relevant for India's climate), and nighttime use. We evaluate color accuracy, brightness (peak and typical), and legibility in each condition. We use both subjective assessment and where possible, reference calibration targets.
Every camera system is tested across a consistent set of scenarios: daylight portraits, landscape shots, indoor ambient-light photography, low-light performance at night, macro shots, ultrawide field of view and distortion, and video stabilization. We specifically test scenarios relevant to Indian users — festival photography, street food shots, family gatherings in mixed lighting, and outdoor travel photography.
We run two battery tests: a standardized PCMark Work 3.0 benchmark for cross-device comparison, and a real-world usage test where the phone is used as a primary device for five consecutive days while logging screen-on time and battery consumption. Charging speeds are measured with a USB power meter for accuracy.
We run AnTuTu 10, Geekbench 6, and 3DMark benchmarks for objective performance comparison, and supplement this with real-world app launch tests, sustained performance testing (60-minute workloads to check for thermal throttling), and gaming performance observation using specific frame rate monitoring tools.
MobilePulse is funded through display advertising (including Google AdSense) and affiliate commissions earned when readers purchase products through clearly marked affiliate links in our buying guides. These commercial relationships do not influence our review scores, conclusions, or recommendations. A phone that generates affiliate revenue will not receive a more favorable review as a result. If we recommend a product, it's because we genuinely believe it's worth your money — not because it earns us more commission.
We never accept payment for positive coverage. When brands send us review units, we disclose this at the top of the relevant review. Review units are returned to brands after testing. Our scores and verdicts are determined solely by the testing outcomes.
If you spot a factual error in any of our reviews, please contact us. We take accuracy seriously and will promptly correct any verified errors with a transparent editor's note. Our editorial email is editorial@mobilepulse.in.
